Pride Lotus 1

June is officially here and Grand River Hospital is once again proud to recognize the LGBTQ2+ community and show our support for our team members, patients, volunteers, and our community during Pride month.

This year, GRH will be flying two Pride flag banners at both our KW and Freeport Campuses, as well as our COVID vaccine clinic and assessment centre, to officially recognize June as Pride month.

With support from the Grand River Hospital Foundation, this year we are selling a Pride t-shirt and pin with our special rainbow lotus design with proceeds going towards our continuous commitment to create safe spaces for our community, whether you are accessing care or working at our hospital. Stay tuned for more information about this collection, coming soon!

We're proud to celebrate LGBTQ2+ patients, staff & community. While this is a wonderful time to reflect on progress, we know there is work to do. In Canada, we know members of the LGBTQ2+ community face barriers in accessing health care which can include discrimination, stigmatization and unequal treatment. This often leads to members of the rainbow community delaying, or avoiding seeking care which can lead to poorer outcomes.

GRH welcomes all and we acknowledge the LGBTQ2+ community’s right to equitable care and treatment. We have a responsibility to create safe spaces for our community, whether you are accessing care or working at our hospital. If you have an experience to share, please reach out to our Patient Relations team at feedback@grhosp.on.ca or 519-749-4300 ext 2966.

We wish everyone a safe and happy Pride!
