Grand River Hospital declares a COVID-19 outbreak in 6N and 6S, inpatient surgery
December 30, 2021The hospital, in consultation with Region of Waterloo Public Health, has declared an outbreak of COVID-19 in 6N and 6S, inpatient surgery. Currently, one patient and two staff from 6S have tested positive, while two patients and two staff from 6N have tested positive. Testing is not yet complete; these numbers may change.

October 20, 2021Grand River Hospital (GRH) is taking an additional step to ensure the health and safety of staff, patients and the community by implementing a vaccine process for care partners who come to the hospital to support the care of patients.
Local hospitals jointly issue vaccine mandate for all staff, volunteers and contractors
September 1, 2021Effective October, 12, staff, physicians, students, volunteers and contractors working at and with local hospitals will be required to be fully vaccinated. Staff who do not meet this will be placed on leave without pay and given a short window into early-November to meet the policy.
