On Friday April 7th, WRHN will recognize our patient registration professionals across our hospital’s campuses. Every year, the patient registration department will register, admit and check-in upwards of 400,000 patients. 

The best cancer care depends on sharing knowledge; that’s why WRHN regularly brings together health professionals from across Waterloo and Wellington to talk about new ways of providing care. The Grand River Regional Cancer Centre hosted its 11th annual regional multidisciplinary oncology conference yesterday evening.

If you were to find out that your kidneys had failed and you needed dialysis treatments to clean your blood, you might feel anxious or overwhelmed about what it will mean for you and your health. Now, WRHN has implemented the “Right Start unit” (RSU) that helps more people who have to unexpectedly start dialysis receive their dialysis care at home rather than coming to the hospital several days a week.
