The holidays are a wonderful time of year to spend with your loved ones, drinking, eating and being merry. But some people aren’t always able to spend the holidays in their home if they need to receive care. Thankfully, mental health and recreational therapist staff at GRH’s Freeport Campus help to bring holiday cheer and a good holiday meal to their patients to make the season special.

At the tender age of four, Evan Conway knows he wants to be a firefighter. Evan has shown the bravery needed for firefighting through a more than two year journey with leukemia. He was happy to celebrate as the Kitchener Fire Department brought a truck to GRH’s KW Campus to mark his final treatment for the disease.

Every year, patients at GRH receive more than 575,000 infusions of intravenous medication. The team responsible for maintaining medication safety through infusion pumps has won GRH’s latest award of excellence for their efforts.
