Title: then and now. GRH celebrates 100 years of exceptional care at Freeport. For Freeport's volunteers, their service is often about giving back.
My name's Brian and I'm a volunteer at the general store. I started to volunteer here because three years ago, I was a patient here and I thought it would be nice to give a little bit back to the hospital that did so much for me when I was here.
For me, the hospital helped me with some very intensive rehab and made me be able to go home and function on my own in my own apartment without having to have any help because of the help they gave me here.
Title: Brian is thankful for the care providers who made a difference for him.
I like the nurses, they were all nice, friendly very professional. I like the physiotherapists they like get you down to business, make you work and motivate you. And I like the fact that I could basically almost go outside, do what I wanted and come back in when they needed me.
For me, the 100th anniversary just means a way to celebrate something that 's helping the community out, getting together, and maybe seeing some of the nurses I used to see when I was in here.
Title: What's Brian's Freeport?
My Freeport's rehabilitation, getting you used to the fact of walking without a leg and being able to cope on your own. The nurses are very professional, everyone who works in this hospital is very professional, very courteous and very friendly.
