Title: Then and now... Grand River Hospital celebrates 100 years of exceptional care at Freeport. Our people are proud to advance exceptional care for patients.
My name's Jennifer Campbell, I'm a technologist at the breast centre, and I've been here probably more than six years now.
Our breast centre has a very robust screening program. But we've also recently had the addition of a third full-field unit which has really helped our centre in regards to wait times. So any patients with concerns or any patients needing further testing from their original screen, it really allows us to get them in within a two week window.
Title: Jennifer helps make each patient's experience at the breast centre better.
Once we meet with the patient and discuss the test with them, we really work with them to make sure that the test is as comfortable as it can be for them. Our new full field digital units, actually a lot of our patients find it easier to tolerate compared to some of the older units. So the big thing is just working with the patient and making sure they are comfortable during the exam because our main goal is to ensure that the patient continues their screening so want the experience to be a good experience so they come back.
Title: What's Jennifer's Freeport?
My Freeport is being able to work with a great group of women, we're all striving for the same thing. When a patient comes in, we try to decrease their anxiety as best we can and get them the answers they want as soon as possible. I'm lucky to be working in an atmosphere like Freeport.
